The National Council of Education, Bengal, was established by National leaders during the British rule on March 11, 1906. Sri Aurobindo and Rabindranath Tagore conjoined with the galaxy of luminaries forming the Council’s first faculty. The National Council of Education, Bengal which is the parent body of the Jadavpur University 1955 is also the founder of Jadavpur Vidyapith which was established on 11th March, 1957.
Jadavpur Vidyapith is one of the most famous Government Sponsored high schools of Kolkata situated inside the Jadavpur University campus. At present the school functions under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Educaion.
The school has produced many brilliant students; some of them are also rank holders in Madhyamik Pariksha conducted by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The school boasts more than 1500 students and 50 full time teaching staff.
The school campus hosts spacious classrooms, well-equipped science laboratories and a well-stocked air-conditioned library. The school also offers bus facility for students.
